A lot goes into making a research center what it is. Yes, there’s hard work, planning, patient visits and clinical procedures; however, all of these things don’t mean much with the people who are at the heart of the operation. Each staff person plays a unique role and adds their individual contribution which makes HCRC the vibrant, thriving organization that it is today.

Karen Garcia, Long Term Regulatory and Office Manager, is an individual who brings a lot to the company. She started with the center in 1995 as a secretary / receptionist and gradually accepted responsibilities as an administrative assistant, in recruitment, advertising, budgetary and regulatory records.

Karen currently handles sponsor contracts and negotiations, overall site coordination, IRB approvals, maintaining and updated all clinical trial regulatory files and supervises the office staff. She has proven to be a dedicated and hard working staff member, who holds herself up to rigorous standards of accuracy and productivity in her work.

Karen is also a devoted wife and mother of two children, Kalena (1995) and Chandler James (2002). And despite all of her responsibilities, Karen still finds a way to maintain a pleasant demeanor and always has a smile to share with others.
